Have you ever gone through old time rosters and completely forget about certain players that were on the Sabres? Here are 10 Sabres that are....lets just say forgettable.
Nolan Pratt- Remember this guy? Nolan Pratt was a defenseman for the Buffalo Sabres in the 2007-2008 season. He played in 55 games with 1 goal and 6 assists. He left Buffalo the next year. Do you even remember 07-08? Does anyone remember this guy?
Michael Ryan- The former center appeared in 2 seasons with the Sabrse. 06-07 and 07-08. In the 2006-07 season, Michael Ryan played in 19 games tallying 3 goals and 2 assists. He had an extended role in the 2007-08 season playing in 46 games tallying 4 goals and 4 assists.
Remember this guy?
Drew Macintyre- Goaltender Drew Macintyre appeared in 2 games for the Sabres in the 2011-2012 season. He came over from the Vancouver Canucks and saw extended playing time in Rochester. When you think of goalies that have started for the Buffalo Sabres has this guy ever come to your mind?
Jeff Jillson- Jillson was one of "those guys" that were called up from Rochester during the conference finals run in the 2005-06 seson. Jillson appeared in 4 games during the Eastern Conference Finals against the Hurricanes. He had a -4 rating and many fans cringe when thinking about Jillson and a few others due to the injury issues in that finals run. Remember this guy?
Tim Kennedy- Tim Kennedy was supposed to be an up and coming player in the 2009-10 season. In 78 games played, Kennedy scored 10 goals and 16 assists with 26 total points.
After Buffalo bought out Kennedy the following season, the winger played for the Panthers and Sharks having a combined 13 points over a 4 year span.
Derek Whitmore- Whitmore was called up in 2011 and appeared in 2 games. He did not record a point however scored 28 goals that season in Rochester. Since then he has never played a game in the NHL.
Doug Janik- Another player that was part of the Eastern Conference heartbreak in 2005-06. Janik never made a serious impact in Buffalo besides his goal in the Eastern Conference Finals. He did earn a larger role with the Lightning appearing in 75 games and 61 games with Tampa Bay. He had 15 points in those two seasons. Remember this guy?
Paul Byron- Byron has actually made some sort of impact in the NHL unlike these other players named. Byron appeared in 8 games for Buffalo scoring a goal and an assist. The Sabres used Byron as part of a trade to land Robin Regher. Byron is now a member of the Montreal Canadiens. In 14 games this season, he has 3 goals and an assist.
Adam Dennis- Another misfit goaltender that didn't pan out in the prospect pool. The Italian-Canadian goalie never had below a 3.00 goals against average in the AHL. He was a 6th round pick for the Sabres. Linus Ullmark was also a 6th round pick.....you win some you lose some.
Dennis now plays in the Italy for the Alleghe hockey club. In 2012-13, Dennis found success going 27-10-5 with a 2.13 GAA. He is the Italian national team starting goaltender in the world championships. Remember this guy?
