Evander Kane silenced his only critic (see Damien Cox) against Toronto. He proceeded to run over Dion Phaneuf like a freight train, and than snipe the game tying goal late in the 3rd period. The entire game he was running around like he always does, hitting everything in his path. The hit on Phaneuf woke up the crowd and energized the team down the stretch.
Eichel had a lot of individual moments on the night. He came close to scoring on several occasions. His best move was winning a draw at center ice and taking it all the way to the net by himself and almost scoring.
Chad Johnson had his best game of his career. He stopped 23 of 24 shots, and stopped both Joffrey Lupul and James Van Riemsdyk in the shootout. Johnson was incredibly patient throughout the game and he was always in position. Johnson's play may have kept the Sabres from claiming Karri Ramo on waivers.
Moulson got the shootout winner, but once again was on the 3rd line. Moulson got less minutes than Sam Reinhart and is most definitely outside the top six as it currently stands.
Reinhart followed his breakout game with a solid performance. He once again was the front man on the power play. What Reinhart has been doing way better than other front men on the team is his ability behind and beside the net. He's very good at getting it to the side or the point and not turning it over even when under pressure.
