Sabres Waive Center Cody Hodgson

The Buffalo Sabres have bought out Cody Hodgson. After Buffalo drafted Jack Eichel and traded for Ryan O'Reilly, there simply was no need for the struggling center who was making big time money after a contract extension after the 2013 season where Hodgson surpassed 20 goals. This was another mess that Darcy Regier left for Tim Murray to clean up and Murray has done it admirably.

In 78 games played Hodgson had only 13 points. As a weak defensive player, Hodgson  needs to put up big numbers on a top line or else he is to be harsh, a useless player.

Never was I a big fan of Hodgson and after drafting Eichel and trading for Legwand and O'Reilly, Hodgson was doomed to be bought out.
